Books for Haiti Project
Following discussions with Thierry Lasserre the Director of Alliance Francaise, Dr Eric Pierre, Consul of Haiti and Leobrun, Jean Baptiste Director of VHAFO(Vision,Help and Action for Organizing), and Rotary Club of Toronto Forest Hill President Rod Verduyn joined members and the public in officially sending more than 800 French books to Haitian libraries to replace those destroyed in the Earthquake.
All books were contributed in just a few days and range from children's books, educational texts to the classics .
The four individuals spoke in French to the importance of establishing a permanent connection with Haiti and protecting and promoting French Language and Culture.
