A. Welcome and Announcements

President Kathy Verduyn welcomed our guests and members.

Guests: Yuki Nakamura (guest of James and Chako) and Teanna Lindsay (guest of Kathryn Hope)

Announcements:
The Consular Ball is scheduled for Oct. 27/12. See Milo for more information.
Guest Yuki Nakamura gave a quick overview of her work on a documentary movie she is producing about the Tsunami in Japan. Yuki would like to address the club in the near future with more detail and is asking the club to consider a sponsorship or supporting role for the project.

Highlights
Janet gave a very effective photo presentation of an eventful service trip to Ghana. There are no built roads, lots of wild animals and huge needs for helping the community. The club donated medical supplies and administered health care. There are not enough doctors & nurses and the patient/doctor ratio is incredibily high. Projects: rainwater capture; telehealth training using the Israeli model; school construction; donations of sports supplies.

C. 50/50 Draw

Art Hall was the lucky winner of the draw this week. He pulled the 8 of Spades so the pot continues to grow.
