"Thanking & Remembering"

Four local, Canadian Veterans of WWII will be returning to our club this year to join us for our 3rd Annual Veterans' Remembrance Day Luncheon. This event is important to our Rotary club since it provides an opportunity to personally thank these veterans for their contribution while remembering their fallen comrades. You are invited to participate.

Veteran John Feeley just celebrated his 91st birthday and will be attending, as are the other veterans who attended last year and were featured in the “Yorkville Remembers” series. The vets are not expected to give formal speeches. This will give them a chance to relax and let the younger generation talk about the positive efforts to help veterans and others. A number of short Remembrance Day videos are included in the program along with the opportunity for club members to express their thanks to the veteran group.

Since this club meeting will include a larger than normal number of guests, it is important to get an attendance estimate in advance of the meeting. This will allow the catering and service staff to plan appropriately.

If you know of local Veterans or others who may be interested in attending, please contact us as soon as possible to make the necessary arrangements! All Canadian Veterans are included: WWII Veterans, Korean War Veterans, Peace Keepers and veterans of more recent conflicts.
